Mission Mighty Men Statement of faith
The Biblical Foundation We Stand On Together
"Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13
God's mighty men are called to stand on a firm foundation. At Mission Mighty Men, we work with men from many churches and denominations to equip, empower, and deploy them for the Kingdom of God. This Statement of Faith expresses the historic, biblical truths that unite followers of Jesus Christ across churches and traditions. It is not meant to cover every doctrine or to replace your own church's statement of faith. It names the essential truths every faithful Christian holds, and it is the foundation on which every part of Mission Mighty Men is built.
Why This Statement Matters
When men from different churches stand shoulder to shoulder, they need to know what holds them together. This statement anchors everything we do, from our Impact Groups and trainings to our books, courses, and events, to the same biblical foundation. It unites men from many congregations around the truths that matter most. And it gives pastors confidence that when their men train through Mission Mighty Men, they will be pointed to Christ, taught the Word faithfully, and sent back stronger to serve their local church. Scripture calls those who teach to hold fast the faithful word so they can encourage others with sound teaching (Titus 1:9). We take that charge seriously.
These are the fundamental truths we believe:
The Word of God
The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is true in all it teaches and is the final authority for faith and life. It is also the warrior's primary weapon, the sword of the Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Ephesians 6:17).
The One True God
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal, one in nature and purpose (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God the Son, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, shedding His blood for our redemption. On the third day He rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and now reigns as Lord and King. At the cross He disarmed the powers of darkness and secured the victory for every believer (John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 2:15).
Humanity and Salvation
God created man in His image, good and upright, but through sin all humanity fell and is separated from God. Our only hope is Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, not earned by good works. Through repentance and faith, we turn from sin, receive forgiveness, are born again by the Holy Spirit, and become new creations in Christ (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation. He seals us as God's own, transforms us into the image of Christ, and gives us the power to live victoriously and fulfill our Kingdom assignment. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in every believer, empowering him to overcome sin, stand strong in battle, and serve boldly. The Spirit also gives spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ (John 14:16-17; Romans 8:9-11; Ephesians 1:13-14; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:16, 22-25; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7).
Spiritual Warfare and Victory
The Christian life is a spiritual battle. Satan is a real enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but he was defeated at the cross. Believers do not fight for victory; we fight from the victory Christ has already won. Clothed in the armor of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit, every believer can resist the enemy, overcome temptation, and stand firm. Through the cross, sin no longer has dominion over us. In the power of the Holy Spirit, we are free to put sin to death, walk in righteousness, and live in the freedom Christ purchased for us (John 10:10; Ephesians 6:10-18; James 4:7; 1 John 4:4; Romans 6:6-14; Romans 8:13).
The Church and Her Mission
The Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who are born again, and expressed in local congregations where believers worship, grow, and serve under faithful pastoral leadership. Christ gave His Church two ordinances (often called sacraments), water baptism and the Lord's Supper. He also gave her the Great Commission: to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey everything He commanded. Discipleship is not optional. Every believer is called both to grow as a disciple of Jesus and to make disciples who will make disciples. Mission Mighty Men exists to serve the local church, never to replace it (Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 10:24-25; Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 2 Timothy 2:2).
Marriage, Family, and the Calling of Men
Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ's love for His Church. God calls men to love their wives sacrificially, raise their children in the instruction of the Lord, and lead their homes with humility, integrity, and strength. God calls every man, married or single, to sexual purity, honoring Him with his body. Every man is created with purpose and called to take his place in God's Kingdom (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:25-33; Ephesians 6:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20).
Christ's Return and Eternity
Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in power and glory. Scripture pictures heaven opened and the One called Faithful and True riding forth on a white horse, judging and making war in righteousness, with the armies of heaven following Him. On His robe and on His thigh a name is written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Every enemy will be defeated, and He will establish His Kingdom forever.
All people will be raised: those who belong to Christ to eternal life in His presence, and those who reject Him to eternal separation from God. We serve a returning King. This hope fuels our courage, compels us to live with urgency, and calls us to lead with purpose until He comes (Revelation 19:11-16; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; John 5:28-29; Revelation 21:1-4).
Unity in the Essentials
Mission Mighty Men serves men from many churches and denominations, and we stand together on these core truths. On secondary matters where faithful Christians and churches differ, each man follows the teaching of his own pastor and local church. We hold to a principle Christians have long embraced: in essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love. Together we are "endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3).
Our aim is not theological debate. Our aim is to deploy men for the Kingdom. When questions arise on secondary matters, we honor one another's churches and keep our eyes fixed on our mission: making disciples and training leaders who will make disciples of others. Our vision is to equip, train, and empower God's men for life, leadership, and victory until He comes.
